God wants me to go to a Champagne Brunch

Background: When T. was in grad school I worked at an after-school program for inner-city kids. The Center is a not-for-profit organization. 140 children, grades K-12, attend the center for free. They get after-school care, violence prevention curriculum, and one-on-one tutoring, plus other various programs. It was a challenging job.

This morning I got a Facebook message from a former co-worker of mine from the Center, Tabby. She said, "Hey, they just played your 3 songs on the radio, and you won ticket's to the Center's fashion show fund-raiser this weekend!" Huh?! This is a radio station I don't listen to often. I certainly don't remember submitting 3 songs of my choice. But if the station picks your 3 songs, you win something. Tabby was sure they said my full name, so I e-mailed the radio station. Can't hurt, right?

They e-mailed me back and said, yes, I won tickets to the fashion show on Sunday! I looked up other people in the area with my last name because I was feeling a little guilty, and all it came up with was my brother-in-law's work address.

What are the chances that a former Center co-worker would hear my name on the radio, and that the prize would be tickets to an event benefitting the Center?

So on Sunday, Tabby and I will be attending the fashion show. I actually haven't been able to find much information about this year's event, but last year it was a champagne brunch.

Oh, Tabby says that "my" 3 song were good, and that I have fabulous taste. I would expect nothing less from me.

Since you don't come here to learn about me, here are a few of the Little Man in a Papua New Guinean hat.J and S, if this hat was made for an adult in PNG, I don't even want to know. It fits this 2-year-old perfectly.

A neighbor of ours made it for him! A new bike helmet?

T used to put on his red cowboy hat and ride his rocking horse at LM's age.
