Before and After

Since this is our first house, we've enjoyed making it our own, starting with the yard. Before we even bought the house, T. said "The trees have got to go." He was referring to a large blue spruce and a maple in our front yard. The before picture doesn't do justice to the ridiculousness of these trees, but from the front you couldn't see the house at all.

We had the trees removed in December (the tree man cut the top 6 feet from the spruce and took it home to be his Christmas tree!) and had the landscaping done in April. Our friend John did the landscape design for us. The japanese maple was a gift from T. for our anniversary last year, because the 5th anniversary is the "wood" anniversary.

After:Just as soon as I find free time I plan to paint the front door red, now that you can see it again.

The Stuff We're Growing

I started this blog a few weeks ago and haven't managed to get even one post up. Ah well, it's Harry Potter Season.

Today's photo sums up The Stuff We're Growing. We're growing Baby, and we're growing a garden. This is our first baby and our first spring/ summer in a house with a garden and a yard.

This Blog is a record of the stuff we're growing for us to remember, as well as a place where family and friends can go to see how Baby is doing. And how our zucchini is doing, 'cause I know you're all burning to find that out. As you can see in the photo, so far so good.
